Saturday lollipop

Who are you & why is your range called what it is called?
I am Ellie, creator of Saturday Lollipop. I make little teeny tiny food from polymer clay, resin & dollshouse supplies into fun jewellery. When I was little, Saturday was the day we would go to the little shop and buy a little paperbag of lollies with our pocket money. In England (where I grew up) each coke bottle or freckle used to cost one penny. Saturday Lollipop seemed such a perfect name for my business, reminding me of being young and the simple pleasures in life!
Where are you located?
In Ferntree Gully, east of Melbourne, at the foot of the hills.
How long have you been creating your lush wares?
For about three years now.

Do you currently have a favourite item in your range?
I love everything! I have little bowls of jewellery all over the place, as whenever I make something new I have to keep one for myself, as it becomes my 'new' favourite! At the moment I am loving the miniature lolly jar necklaces.
What motivates you to keep crafting/creating?
Just loving what I do! I adore little miniatures and have such fun recreating beautiful cakes and treats on a tiny scale. Through craft I have met such amazingly kind & inspiring people too.
Are you someone who generally tends to buy Handmade over mass produced? Why?
Yes, I buy at least one handmade item each month (although usually much more but sshhh don't tell my husband!) I love being able to support other people who create such unique things which are made with such love & care. Such heart & soul go into handmade products. You don't get that with something mass produced in China. I also am a big believer that creativity breeds creativity. By supporting other handmade businesses and seeing what amzing things they make, just inspires me in what I do.

Do you have any new items in the pipe works that you'd like to hint to us about?
Hmm...well I do have a whole bunch of citrus trees in my garden which I have been thinking about recently...some expect to see something fresh & zesty!
Do you also sell online?
Yes, through and also on
Down That Little Lane.
Would you like for me to link to your store for those poor people not able to get into Blackbird?
Yes please, that would be very lovely.

We are excited to be Newcastle's exclusive stockists of
Saturday Lollipop!
