Everyday...

A decade's worth of daily images of "my Sean" in just under five minutes. That's half of our relationship to date condensed into the length of a beautiful song.

The Tiny Little Girl

Who are you & why is your range called what it is called?
My name is Beth, I’m a soon to be 32 year old woman who refuses to grow up. My range is called The Tiny Little Girl as I feel like even though I’m getting older I’ll always be a fun loving little girl (in my head at least!)
Where are you located?
In sunny (much to my sun-hating pain) Perth, WA

How long have you been creating your lush wares?
I’ve been sewing for a long time but only got back into it in a more serious capacity mid last year.

Do you currently have a favourite item in your range?
I’ve always been really fond of my sugar skulls. I call them Skully’s. They’re super fun to make and each one has such a unique look. Plus, who doesn’t love a moustache?

What motivates you to keep crafting / creating?
Positive feedback from people seeing my work as well as the thrill of creating something new each time I pick up my needle and thread. Each of my pieces is one of a kind which keeps things interesting for me!

Are you someone who generally tends to buy handmade over mass produced? Why?
I’m probably a 50/50 person to be honest. I shop a lot on etsy for supplies as well as cards and little stocking filler gifts, but I also do all my clothing shopping online so that takes up the other 50%! I buy the majority of my crafting supplies from etsy as I feel that supporting smaller sellers like myself is important.

Do you have any new items in the pipe works that you'd like to hint to us about?
I’ve always wanted to try making felt plushies so that might be something coming up from me…

Do you also sell online?
Yes, I have a little Etsy shop.

Would you like for me to link to your store for those poor people not able to get into Blackbird?
People can also follow me on Instagram for sneak peeks of new items in the works: @thetinylittlegirl

Are you sick of answering these silly questions?
Never!

Blackbird Corner is proud to be the first bricks and mortar store who'll be stocking this delectable & unique range!
Naturally we'll be Newcastle's exclusive stockists!
In stock mid next week - depending on when Brian The Courier brings them to us!

Made by Me.

Who are you & why is your range called what it is called?
I'm Brodie and I'm the fabric addict behind "madebyme" . I decided on this name minutes before the deadline of submitting my application to my first market in 2010, and it stuck! And I'm still here (and still adding to my fabric collection! Somehow the pile never gets smaller!)

Where are you located?
I'm currently living on the Central Coast but I grew up in Hunter Valley and Newcastle.
How long have you been creating your lush wares?
I've been making things all my life! But after an accident at the end of 2009, I decided life was too short to make excuses and I booked my first market in mid 2010. I love creating, it's very soothing for the soul.
Do you currently have a favourite item in your range?
My current favourite item is the chai heat/cool packs. I am completely addicted to cinnamon at the moment!!

What motivates you to keep crafting/creating?
I love creating - as I said I find it soothing. I just wish I could clone myself so I could make more! And more often! ( and then buy more fabric!!)
Are you someone who generally tends to buy Handmade over
mass produced? Why?
I love buying handmade and supporting the handmade community.  My kids have a wonderful array of clothes from a stack of super talented people!
Do you have any new items in the pipe works that you'd like to hint to us about?
I'm working on some more scented products in the coming months and some more kids clothing.

Do you also sell online?
Would you like for me to link to your store for those poor people not able to get into Blackbird?
I am found on Facebook www.facebook.com/made.by.brodie and I'm getting set up on etsy and have a website in the pipeline which will hopefully be ready in a couple of months.

We are excited to be Newcastle's exclusive stockists of Made by Me. Brodie's creations can also be found at The Bower Bird Project at Long Jetty NSW.

tiny and i

We'll be starting 2013 with quite a few new Indy Aussie makers' wares pouring in to stock throughout January. We shall, of course, be Newcastle's exclusive stockists of them.
First cab off the rank is tiny and i.

Who are you & why is your range called what it is called?
I am a Melbourne Mum who, desperate to wear jewellery that my little girls could fiddle with and not break designed a range of fun, fashionable suckable, chewable, tuggable necklaces that seem to be as big a hit with the non-Mummy crowd as with the Mums for whom I designed the product! "tiny" is my youngest daughter's nickname and "i"... that's me ;-) My "tiny" is also my (super cute) lab rat.
Where are you located? Melbourne.
How long have you been creating your lush wares? While I spent much of 2012 designing and planning, tiny and i is a brand new shiny label - we have only been in stores since November!
Do you currently have a favourite item in your range?
Though I alternate necklaces on a daily basis,
my current fave is the 'eden'.

What motivates you to keep crafting/creating?
I want to see women looking and feeling just as funky and fashionable with babies on their hips as they do on date night.
Do you have any new items in the pipe works that you'd like to hint to us about?
There is at least one new style coming out in the first half of 2013. Think 'pasta' ;-)
Do you also sell online?
Yes! check out the entire range at www.tinyandi.com.au
Would you like for me to link to your store for those poor people not able to get into Blackbird? Definitely!
Are you sick of answering these silly questions?
No! Love feeling like a celeb ;-)
